Tribe of 2023

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you. Thank you for your remarkable courage in not only applying but also following through on your commitment. It is disheartening to observe that many veterans opt for a different, unchangeable path. However, you have chosen to confront your inner demons and ascend above them. While it might take time to vanquish them, you now perceive the beacon of light and truth. Understand that nothing is as insurmountable as it may initially appear, and all trials and tribulations eventually come to an end. Life, as you’ve experienced during your 41-day journey, is not meant to be a cakewalk. In fact, it shouldn’t be. Without hardships, there would be no room for growth or the acquisition of wisdom.

In the words of Bruce Lee, “Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a hard one.” Every mountain you conquer merely reveals another one on the horizon. How you manage and respond to these mountains lies entirely within your control. Our mind, at times, can be both our greatest asset and our most formidable adversary. It is crucial to learn how to master it, harness its potential, and employ it to enhance ourselves and the lives of those around us.

It all begins with your mindset, how you perceive yourself, and the beliefs and habits you nurture. To change your beliefs, habits, and thoughts, you must first become aware of them. Taking a moment for introspection, breathing, and practicing mindfulness grants you the opportunity to address these issues and shape new conditions in your life.

You wield the incredible power of choice; you get to decide what you nourish within yourself. If past ways brought turmoil and despair into your life, consider a shift in your thinking, adjust your actions, and chart a new course for your life. Life is a magnificent journey, replete with challenges. These challenges are moments for personal growth and the acquisition of knowledge and wisdom. Life, your greatest teacher, should be embraced with the same vigor you exhibited when taking that initial cold plunge on day one. Although it may not have been pleasant at first, you came to embrace and enjoy the entire process.

I am deeply honored to have shared a brief moment of your journey. While some of our paths may never intertwine again, we will forever remain brothers, united by our shared home at the Double H Ranch. Should our paths cross once more, I earnestly hope to find you thriving, growing in wisdom, and exuding a greater sense of inner peace.

I will leave you with one more quote “I hope you live a life you`re proud of, and if you find that you`re not, I hope you find the strength to start all over again.” – Benjamin Button

Each day is a new beginning. Who are you becoming?
